An oxygen mask is used to breathe oxygen through the nose and mouth. The connecting tube has a length of 2 m, which provides convenient therapy when the oxygen source is close to the patient. It is possible to attach an oxygen mask to the face with a rubber band (complete with mask).
Oxygen masks are commonly used when nasal breathing is difficult or impossible and a person has to breathe through the mouth. If the patient breathes freely through the nose, oxygen nasal cannulas ("tubes" in the nose) are recommended. Due to the minimal level of contact with the face, nasal cannulas are easy to use and practically do not interfere with talking, eating, etc.
